ASTRAL PROJECTION

In this lesson we will start by discussing the much researched phenomenon ‘Astral Projection’ or ‘Out of Body Experience - ‘OBE’ or ‘OOBE’. This type of experience was first brought to the public eye when Dr. Hereward Carrington, in 1919, published his book Modern Physical Phenomena wherein there was a chapter on this subject. By chance, some years later, he met Sylan Muldoon, who was a very experienced projector, whereupon they both investigated the phenomenon further and published books which included The Projection of the Astral Body and The Phenomena of Astral Projection. You should try and obtain either one of these books as well as Journeys Out of the Body by another experienced OBEr, Robert A. Monroe, whose claim of achieving the condition thousands of times attracted a wide audience in the 1960s and ‘70s.

We will try to explain astral projection without offering any hypothesis on what it actually is and how it works. Many people have been studying it for many years, there are whole research programs dedicated to it; at least 25% of the adults of the western world believe they have had the experience at least once and still no one really knows what it is. All we know is that it has something to do with the imagination but when you are experiencing it, the reality ‘there’ is as real as it is ‘here’.
